The Road Here

My career hasn't followed a straight line.

I've competed in athletics, led sales organizations, worked inside dealerships, taught in classrooms, built teams, experienced wins, made mistakes, changed my mind, and learned some lessons later than I wish I had.

But the most valuable lessons weren't always about business or performance. They were about people.

How quickly we make assumptions. How easily we misunderstand one another. How differently a conversation can unfold when we ask instead of assume. And how much can change when we're willing to question our own thinking.

Those experiences eventually led me to writing—not because I have all the answers, but because I've learned the value of asking better questions.

What I Write And Speak About

After more than twenty years of leading, selling, coaching, and learning from the people around me, I kept seeing the same pattern: we make assumptions, jump to conclusions, and listen for our turn to respond. I’m interested in what changes when we slow down, ask better questions, and try to understand before we try to influence..

I write and speak about leadership, sales, communication, curiosity, and listening. These ideas are for people who lead, sell, coach, parent, or simply want to communicate better with the people around them.

The Book

Hardback Version Shown Here

Curiosity isn’t just a theme in my book, Retail Out Of It: Leadership, Sales, and the Mindset Beyond the Scoreboard; it’s at the heart of it. What began as a book about sales became a broader exploration of how we communicate, the assumptions we make, and what changes when we listen before responding.
